Herrmann helps organisations unlock the value of their cognitive diversity
Cognitive Diversity isn’t just about background, experiences and opinions, although all of those factors tend to play a part. Fundamentally, it’s about the differences people have in how they prefer to think.
At work, we need diversity of thought and ideas to solve tough problems and make smart decisions. The diversity of thought within organisations is one of the best resources available for thriving in the modern business world. For over 30 years, our clients have used Whole Brain® Thinking to improve productivity, innovation, integration, and inclusion.
Our case studies show how we’ve helped our clients build internal capabilities beyond one-off problem solving to sustain their growth over decades. Hear what some of them have to say.
Aimee Sherer
Learning & Capability Manager
Suntory Oceania
When I joined Suntory 4 years ago we already had a long standing relationship with Herrmann. The Whole Brain® Model is part of our cultural DNA. It’s one of our key foundational tools that we use for development of our people. We talk so much about unlocking performance through cognitive diversity, and the HBDI® is our gateway tool that opens a door for people to be able to do that.

Danielle Wylie
Learning & Development Manager
Nespresso Australia & Oceania
I was first introduced to HBDI® and Whole Brain® Thinking back in 2014 when I was profiled. What resonated for me most was when I took that back to the boutique and started looking at how I coached individual team leaders and clue spot what their profiles might be. Within our Corporate Sales team we rolled out HBDI® and Whole Brain® Thinking to help them really understand when they’re profiling customers. They now use it as a tool to prepare for meetings so they’re able to approach it from a Whole Brain® perspective.

Angela McMillan
Organisational Development Manager - People & Culture, Swinburne University of Technology
For the last 15 years Swinburne University has been using HBDI® that enables teams to better understand themselves and their thinking preferences. The better we understand ourselves, the better we’re going to be able to produce innovative outcomes and collaborate with one another. It’s simple in its application but can also go much deeper the more you use it. It can change people’s lives. It can change the way people look at the world and that can only be a positive thing.

Pauline d'Unienville
General Manager - Culture & People
Woolworths New Zealand
We began our HBDI® journey in 2016 and wanted to focus on personal development for our teams. Using the HBDI® allowed our teams to better understand each other and really helped from a communication and interaction perspective. We’re really starting to see a lot more collaboration and working better together. It’s really allowed our team to embrace diversity of thought and as an organisation unlock the difference in thinking.[/dipl_image_card_carousel_item][dipl_image_card_carousel_item _builder_version="4.16" _module_preset="default" global_colors_info="{}"]
Bruce Moore
Executive Director - Mission, UnitingCare QLD
HBDI® helps us to approach in a Whole Brain® way and a holistic way. Our long-term vision for the use of the HBDI® across our organisation is to cascade this right down through all the different layers of our leadership, right through to the frontline. Our approach is that we place our customer firmly at the centre. What HBDI® enables us to do is to think about that person and what we find is that it enables others to feel like they can contribute with a different voice, a different set of eyes, a different way of thinking.

Steven Arthurson
General Manager of People
Australian Pharmaceutical Industries
HBDI® started for us in 2013. We’ve always done a lot of work on helping people understand themselves better. Not only accepting but really valuing that diversity of thought is something we’re really interested in and we thought the HBDI® and Whole Brain® Thinking might assist us with that. We discovered that it is incredibly valuable in the team environment. We now spend more time on using the HBDI® and Whole Brain® Thinking in relation to how people get along in teams and creating high performance teams. We’ve got it locked in now as a core component of what we do so it will be with us for a long time.
